Zachary Reid Visual Arts is also home to The Reid Family Tomato Trust (est. 1941). Zach is a third generation urban tomato farmer. His grandfather produced thousands of tomatoes a year at two sites in Louisville, Ky., using his signature organic “starter” to create lush plants and tasty fruits. Zach’s father carried on the tradition in Norfolk and later in Richmond. Zach currently grows eight varieties in an experimental container garden atop a repurposed parking lot.
